Why so many leaders look back to India
India has about 1,760 GCCs, with more than 1.9 million staff. Leadership roles run from India are expected to grow from over 6,500 to more than 30,000 by 2030 (Zinnov). Many of these roles suit leaders who know both worlds. That may be why you hear from India more often. But interest is not an offer. Read your record first.
What changes in how India reads you
India reads a leadership record its own way.
- Scope matters more than title. Say how many people, how much budget and which markets.
- Numbers need a currency. Say USD or GBP, and the size of the business.
- A GCC head is judged on building capability, not only on cutting cost.
- Your years abroad count. Show what you built, not just where you sat.
We help you name things the way India names them.
Pay and levels: an honest talk
Pay and levels in India do not map neatly from abroad. A title may move up or down. Pay may look different once living costs are counted. We help you think this through calmly, using what the market asks of similar roles today. We do not promise a level, a salary or an offer. Those are always the employer’s decisions.
The board route in India
If you want an independent director role in India, the formal route starts with the IICA databank and its proficiency test. You will also need a DIN. A certificate does not make you a candidate, though. Boards want judgement and independence. Our board readiness work helps you get ready. It never guarantees a seat or an introduction.
Time zones and calls
Every call runs on Microsoft Teams. You pick a slot from the times shown when you book. Indian afternoons fall in the early morning on the US East Coast and in Canada’s east, and in the afternoon or evening in Singapore and Australia. The Teams link comes to you by email.

Common questions
Asked by leaders abroad
Can you find me a GCC-head role in India?
No. We are not a recruiter or a placement agency. We do not source roles or apply for you. We help you see how your record reads in India, so you can decide well.
Will you tell me what I will be paid in India?
We will talk it through honestly, using what the market asks of similar roles today. We will not promise a level, a salary or an offer. Those decisions belong to the employer.
How do I become an independent director in India?
The formal route is the IICA databank and its proficiency test, plus a DIN. Being ready, and having a board CV, is separate work. Our board readiness programme covers that. No one can promise you a seat.
Which currency do I pay in?
Leaders abroad pay in US dollars or pounds. These prices are before tax and not subject to Indian GST. Indian residents pay in rupees, plus GST.
Are my files read by AI?
No. Packages P1 to P3 use no language model. A named human reviewer reads every file. Our data handling is built to GDPR, UK GDPR and India’s DPDP Act.
