By function

A percentage without a base is not evidence.

Revenue leaders write the most numerical records and the least verifiable ones. Growth of 140 per cent means nothing until a reader knows what it grew from, over what period, and what you controlled.

What gets lost

Three things this function leaves off the page.

None of them are missing from the career. They are missing from the document, which is the only version a reader ever sees.

The base the growth started from

Doubling a small number and adding a fifth to a large one are different jobs. A percentage with no base invites the reader to assume the easier one.

The market you were given

A tailwind and a turnaround produce the same chart. Which one you were in is the single most useful thing a revenue record can disclose, and it reads as candour.

The motion, not the outcome

Segmentation, pricing, channel, team design. What you built is durable evidence; a number from one good year is not.

The same claim, rewritten

Longer only on facts.

No adjective is strengthened and nothing is added to the career. What changes is which part of the sentence carries the weight.

As most records put it

“Grew revenue 140% and consistently exceeded quota.”

The strongest-sounding line on most revenue records and the weakest under scrutiny. Nothing here can be sized or checked.

With the decision named

“Took the enterprise segment from its first year of coverage to a repeatable motion across two territories, holding pricing authority and a team I hired, through two full planning cycles.”

Less numerically dramatic and considerably more persuasive, because every clause can be discussed in an interview without collapsing.

An illustrative composite, not a client. We do not publish client material, and your own lines are only ever rewritten from sources you supply.

The rule that bounds every rewrite. We will not write a claim your record cannot support. Ever. A claim without a source stays marked open in the evidence register and stays out of the résumé until you supply one.

What the audit looks for

Four readings that matter most in a revenue record.

The seven dimensions are the same for everyone. Which of them usually carries the gap is not.

POSITIONING

What you are for

New market, scale-up, turnaround, enterprise motion. Positioning carries 36 per cent of the index — more than the next two dimensions combined.

EVIDENCE

A figure with its base

Currency, starting point, period and territory. Four short additions that move a claim from unverifiable to checkable.

MARKET

The vocabulary of the buyer

Revenue functions are described very differently across sectors and geographies. Market alignment carries 18 per cent for exactly this reason.

OWNERSHIP

Set, not inherited

Whether you designed the motion or ran someone else’s is the difference between two levels of role, and most records leave it open.

Your career, finally evidenced.

Make the full weight of your career impossible to miss.
