One record. Three reading conventions.
Roles are written in a house dialect. The same responsibility is called an operating rhythm in one market and a governance cadence in another. Market alignment carries 18 per cent of the index for exactly this reason.
Being legible to the people who wrote the advert.
It is not keyword matching, and it is not adopting a market’s vocabulary for work you have not done.
What it is
A record can be entirely true and still be unreadable to a market that describes the same job differently.
What it is not
We do not promise interviews, offers or outcomes. Those are not ours to promise, and a cross-border move is the situation where that matters most.
Three things that travel badly.
Each is a formatting problem, not a career problem — which is why they are worth fixing before anything else.
Unstated currency and unit
A revenue figure with no currency, or a crore figure read by someone who counts in millions. The number is right and the reader has silently divided it.
Title inflation running in reverse
The same title carries a different span in different markets. A record that relies on the title to imply scope arrives smaller than it left.
Structure the market does not expect
What a reader looks for in the first six lines differs. Positioning carries 36 per cent of the index, and those six lines are where it lives.
“Ran P&L across two regions.”
No currency, no unit, no span. A reader in any market has to guess, and the guess is the small one.
“Owned the P&L for two regions — INR 740 crore (approx. USD 89 million) combined revenue across 11 sites — through two budget cycles.”
The claim did not grow. It simply stopped depending on the reader knowing your market’s conventions.
Rewrites on this page are illustrative and use the figures from the published sample composite. Your own lines are only ever rewritten from sources you supply.
Senior leaders moving between markets, in either direction.
India, the Gulf and globally mobile markets, at CXO, EVP, SVP, VP, Director and Head of Function level.
India to the Gulf
Where scale is often understated in the record and the receiving market reads span before it reads sector.
Gulf to global
Where a strong regional mandate needs the governance and decision layer surfaced, not just the operating one.
Returning to India
Where an international record has to be re-sized against a domestic operating vocabulary without shrinking.
What your report will tell you. Where the record currently sits on market alignment, and the two areas worth changing first. It will not tell you that a move is a good idea, or that it will work. That is not a judgement a document can make for you.
